Camp Butner's training mission is to serve as the major training area for the North Carolina Army National Guard. Its secondary mission is to support other Department of Defense units, State and local law enforcement agencies, and select civilian organizations. Camp Butner has modern, state-of-the-art live-fire training ranges, training aids and simulators, and limited lands to meet the tactical unit maneuver training requirements.

Scheduling the Camp Butner Ranges/Classrooms
Three documents are required prior to scheduling any range or facility on Camp Butner
1. Certificate of Insurance (example)
2. Relese and Hold Harmless Agreement (Form)
3. memorandum of Agreement (Form)
Complete these documents and provide them to Camp Butner Range Control. Once you have submitted the required documents, requested a RFMSS account, and it has been activated, you may schedule your facility by clicking  HERE!

 Location & Directions

Camp Butner is located in the horseshoe that Range Road forms in Durham and Granville Counties., approximately 7 miles from Stem, NC and 5 miles from Butner, NC. It can be reached form Interstate 85 (approximately 10 miles away).

From Interstate 85, take exit 191 onto Highway 56-W, Turn right on 33rd Street to stop sign, left on Old Highway 75 toward Durham, approximately 3/8 mile to right on Range Road, approximately 1 mile to right on Roberts Chapel Road, approximately 1/2 mile to Camp Butner Headquarters, a brick building on the left with 3 flagpoles in front.
