 Periods of Service That Qualify

 

o Honorable Active Duty service of at least 90 aggregate days after 9/11

o Honorable Active Duty service of at least 30 consecutive days after 911 where the Service Member received a Medical Discharge

  • Does NOT apply to Service Members who received a Medical Discharge from Active Duty orders under Title 10 U.S.C. 12301(h)
  • Does NOT apply to Service Members who received a Medical Discharge from their Reserve Component
 

 Active Duty Definition for CH 33 Purposes

 

o Honorable service in an Active DOD Component

o Honorable Active duty service performed under Title 10 U.S.C. 672(d), 688, 12301(a), 12301(d), 12301(g), 12302 or 12304.

o Honorable service performed as a Title 32 AGR member

o Honorable service performed under Title 32 U.S.C. 502(f) in Support of Operation Noble Eagle from September 11th, 2001 to May 31st, 2002.

  • DD 214 or Active Duty order MUST state "Support of Operation Noble Eagle" in order to qualify
 

 What Does CH 33 Cover

 
Payments under the program for both the Veteran & their spouse depend on whether or not the Service Member is in an Active Duty status as incidated above.
