Chief Master Sergeant Bruce G. Pickett is the Squadron Superintendent of the 156th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron (AES), 145th Airlift Wing, North Carolina Air National

Carolina. He advises the 156th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron Commander on matters influencing the health, welfare, morale and effective utilization of the enlisted members of the 156th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron.
CMSgt Pickett was born in Omak, Washington (state). He graduated from Henry Foss High School in Tacoma, WA and college at Manatee Community College in Bradenton, Florida.
CMSgt Pickett began his military career by enlisting as Weapons Mechanic in the active duty United States Air Force on 30 June 1975. He attended basic Military training at Lackland Air Force Base (AFB) on 1 July 1975. After basic military training he was assigned to Lowery AFB, Denver, Colorado for Technical training. Upon completion of Technical training, in January of 1976 he was assigned to Mountain Home AFB, Idaho where he was a member of a weapons loading team on F-111 aircraft. After a year at Mountain Home AFB he volunteered for world-wide duty and was assigned to Spangdahlm Air Base, Germany, in June of 1977, for three years. There he was assigned as night shift supervisor for the Gun Shop responsible for the maintenance of F-4 gun systems, and loading of ammunition on to F-4 gun systems. Upon completion of his overseas tour he was assigned to Luke AFB, Arizona. There he loaded and maintained weapons systems for F-15 aircraft, for the last year of his 6 year enlistment. After break in service, Chief Pickett joined a Florida Army National Guard Field Artillery unit and was assigned to a Fire Direction Control Team. On 13 July 1991, he transferred to the 156AES, North Carolina Air National Guard in Charlotte, NC.

He has been assigned to the 156AES his entire NCANG career. He is a traditional guardsman and works full-time for the Charlotte Fire Department.
